CoHSTAR Year 2 Update September 2017 CoHSTAR Summer Ins tute Recap Not long ago, we announced our commitment to advancing health services and health policy research in Physical Therapy. Thanks to all of you, CoHSTAR was estab- lished and has since generated an enthusias c following as physical therapists come to learn the value of health services research. Two years in, CoHSTAR is making great strides. We are thrilled by the growth and reach CoHSTAR has made and would like to share with you some of its successes. Thank you for making all this possible. Barbara Malm, MBA CEO, Founda on for Physical Therapy The 2017 Summer Ins tute was held in conjunc on to the NEXT Conference & Exposi on with the goal of bringing together prac ce leaders and health services researchers to seek prac cal solu ons to reduce varia on in care and demonstrate value across the con nuum of care. The Summer Ins tute was offered as a Pre-Conference workshop with over 100 a endees, 27 poster presenta ons and 13 par cipants in its Intensive Workshop with CoHSTAR faculty members. A endees discussed the shi from fee-for-service to bundled payments and other models that emphasize value and outcomes. Summer Ins tute a endees also examined how lessons learned from the joint replacement bundled payment ini a ve can inform physical therapy prac ce as integrated care models are developed and implemented.
